Alright - time to make this official.. ladies & gentlemen.. i am out of the computer fixing business.. i am seriously SICK and TIRED of Tom Dick Harry and his fucking dog asking me about their damn computers.. NO offense to Aileen, CJ or Dom whose computer problems i have listened to in the past few days - you guys are alright.. but the thing is, i cannot stand these people who simply call, sms or msn me telling/whining/moaning/bitching about their computer problems.. yes, maybe it takes only 10 to 20 to 30 mins for your problem but its not just YOU that i have to fucking listen to.. i look back and realise a LOT of my fucking time goes into fixing - or rather - trying to fix others' computers.. and you know what, half the time i cant even do anything.. and then what happens - they ask me to help format and install windows.. err - noone taught me to do any of this shit.. and formatting and installing windows is idiot-proof.. for undergrads it should be no issue trying and learning.. and you know what the other thing is.. EVEN IF I HAD THE TIME.. i prefer to spend my time doing nothing.. yes, i am sick and tired of being the friendly neighbourhood IT technician.. without quoting names, people suddenly remember i exist when they have computer problems? well frankly.. just stay away..
And i hope this is a timely reminder for the next semester/academic year.. people are gonna come strolling in.. with their NUS settings fucked beyond recognition.. and when they cant connect they wont bother to check any shit.. all they will do is call me or whoever else is around and knows a bit.. with so few of the old folks who know computers around.. i have a bad feeling about this.. this current generation eh - the era of outsourcing.. they wont wipe their arse or tie their shoelaces if someone else will do it free for them.. and yes.. keep the bloody freshies away.. go try out yourselves.. and if all else fails.. there is the newly renovated Computer Centre.. just go away.. i dont want to fix any computers.. and worry not i aint gonna ask you to fix mine either..
